Gabby

BIG I told ya so!

Hey folks,

Back on July 1st 2012, I said this....
I have a prediction. One, we win the Gold. Two, HERE is the Olympic All Around Champion. Gabrielle Douglas. This chick is AMAZING. Basically, even though it didn't count, She WON the World Championships.

She takes competing very seriously, but she has fun while doing it. She does not however, take herself very seriously. She is humble, and funny, and just simply, the best at what she does. She hits her routines and makes it look easy. I personally think she has been overlooked, and I think she will surprise everyone. Everyone except me that is.
We did it. SHE Did it. The Fierce Five, Yeah I know, but that is what they would rather be called. The Fierce Five won the Gold. Yesterday? Yesterday Gabby Douglas made history.
America's new gymnastics sweetheart is a 16-year-old girl with a megawatt smile, steady nerves and an unusual nickname. Gabrielle Douglas, known as the Flying Squirrel for her aerial prowess, became the first African-American Olympics all-around gold medalist, leading wire-to-wire in Thursday's competition. The silver medal went to Russia's Victoria Komova, who wept in frustration after finishing a distant second.
I told ya so. I LOVE this headline. Gabby Douglas Takes Two Olympic Golds—And Hair Criticism Seriously?
As American teen gymnast Gabby Douglas continues to wow the world with her grace, style, and growing collection of gold medals, an unfortunate backlash is making the rounds. Various social-media sites and platforms have begun to chastise the new sports darling for, of all things, the upkeep of her hair.

Douglas’s unique and inspiring story—she’s one of the few African-American gymnasts ever to compete in the Olympic Games and the first black woman to take the all-around individual title—has helped her capture the covers of Time and Sports Illustrated. Even President Obama called her to congratulate her on her gold medals. But on social-media outlets such as Twitter and several black blogs, it’s her ponytail, and not her dominance at the London Games, that seems to have become the focal point.
Are ya kidding me?
“I love how she’s doing her thing and winning,’’ says 22-year-old Latisha Jenkins of Detroit told The Daily Beast. “But I just hate the way her hair looks with all those pins and gel. I wish someone could have helped her make it look better since she’s being seen all over the world. She representing for black women everywhere.’’
No she is not. She is representing America, and herself. She is the best in the world, and she has the Gold to prove it. Now, go sit down, eat another Twinkie, and shut up.

It just like all those that say McKayla Maroney is too sensual or sexy looking because of her eyes. I even heard one person comment on how "thick" Jordyn Wieber looked. Seriously? Any of these young Ladies would kick your butt in a second. These are kids that worked for this moment their entire life and they have achieved something YOU will never do. They won Olympic Gold. Can we stop attacking them? Let them be kids and have the time of their lives. We should be celebrating them. I'm not posting any more of this nonsense. If you really want some examples of these Idiots, click the link.

Congratulations Gabby, or now you won the Gold, MISS. Douglas. You have made the country PROUD! You know, they, the Ladies, have this saying they say to each other right before competition. They do not say "Be great." "You can do it." Break a leg." Well, I guess you should say that in Gymnastics anyway. No. They say "Be normal." Why? Because their normal IS Great! The Fierce Five proved they are the best in the World at what they do. Gabby proved she is the Best of the Best! They all have Gold to prove it.

Gabby, and all the rest, PLEASE, ignore these Idiots. Enjoy this moment, and all those to come. You have earned them. I only have one thing left to say....Thank you.

Peter
